Evaluation

In this evaluation I felt that my title sequence went very well and I kept a good mood of thriller through the title sequence not giving away what the movie will be like.  I believe that the duration of the title sequence was quite short I thought I could of made it longer but risking that it would say too much in the title sequence and would ruin the movie. I felt the music worked well with the sequence but I thought something less musical and scrappier and more abnormal noises like in the title sequence of seven. I was playing around with types of music like pink Floyd, especially the album dark side of the moon because they have unusual music in their album, which would work well in the concept of the title sequence, however I couldn’t find the sound which would of contrasted well in my sequence.

Overall the title sequence went well and I’m happier with the outcome of it but if I would do the sequence again I would of kept the thriller genre because I feel you can have more fun with this type of genre. I would of used after effects more frequently than just chopping and changing parts I would of used the effects to get more of a strange, scratchy effect. For example I would of made the type jump up and down possibly fade it in and out of the sequence, and I would of made the imagery more dark and mystery to keep the flow of abnormality because I feel the title sequence I have made is too minimalistic.

1st attempt

From the 1st attempt i didn't change alot because I felt that the mood of the sequence was good and had the feeling I was looking for. The aspects of the sequence I changed was I changed A film by David Fincher to Michael Vernile, I made the scene with the title stay on longer because I thought it was took quick, next I reversed the scenes where the person is cutting the film and cutting paper, felt that it gave an interesting effect on that section, and finally at the end I took out directed by David Fincher because I didn't want it to be a David Fincher film.

After that I used link no2, I used 0:39 - 0:41 I reversed the clips to give more of an effect. lastly I used link no4. Thriller Title sequences

http://www.artofthetitle.com/title/red-lights/

I like the music in this sequence because i think it makes the scene of a thriller and how the letters from the actors/actress comes of the main part of the name giving that sense of light moving. when it comes up to the name of the film the lights change to red for a second to emphasise the film name then go back to black and white. during the title sequence the type has different effects on them which makes it seem interesting.

In this title sequence i feel it has that scratchy, thriller punch right from the beginning of the sequence.  i like how there is no music but just unusual sounds in the background and how the sequence is showing a story of some writing down and cutting out pictures, making it seem like the killer from the beginning, and then at the end of the title sequence the one lyric says "you get me closer to god" while cutting out "god" out of the money, was good timing with the music. the music was the biggest impact because it seemed like something was going to happen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcp9Ysi75f0 - the girl with the dragon tattoo

This title sequence is very graphic oriented, its a great title sequence and it immediately gets you into watching the film and entices you to see more. the whole sequence is in black and you can deffrentitate what is going on within the dark colours. the music is a very strong asset with keeping you watching the sequence because of how loud it is.

http://www.artofthetitle.com/title/the-game/

I like this title sequence because it is very calm and gives the effect of looking back over someones past memories, the  music has a calm, forgiving feel which works well with the film projector style playing through the sequence, also throughout the sequence theres no type, which i think works well, the only type on the sequence is at the beginning which has the productions and the name of the title. i feel that this is a separate sequence on its own with the effect of puzzles pieces breaking away.

http://www.artofthetitle.com/title/snatch/

In this sequence i like how it starts straight off into the film explaining who the characters are, then the rest of the sequence shows it through video records of a robbery on diamonds. i like how the type is very graphic and big so you know who is in the film, then 3mins into the sequence you can see the robbery started. next it tells who else is in the film in this 70 retro style graphic effect which i think is very interesting and works perfectly in the sequence.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kW9ymK2yhG8 - hannibal

This is along the same lines as the girl with the dragon tattoo because it is graphic oriented and they use blood to form somebodies head at the end of the scene which is well choreographed, it is a very short sequence but you get all the information what you are bout to watch in the sequence with the music gives a very creepy texture to the sequence.
